The third episode of the RSPB's Nature's Voice podcast features a celebration of 10 years on Otmoor near Oxford which has been reclaimed as wetland and is now encouraging rare species back to the south of England.

The podcast is breaking new ground in its collaboration between a production company like Podcats and the expertise on the ground from RSPB experts. RSPB staff have been trained to gather audio in the field using an HHB Flashmic. In this episode the RSPB's John Clare took the Flashmic to the Otmoor celebration and the raw audio was later transferred via USB to a computer and the wav files sent via ftp to Podcats.

Jane Markham, from Podcats scripts, presents and produces the podcast and adds further interview material, much of it recorded via ISDN links to the RSPB's offices around the country.

The resulting Podcast can range far and wide, without incurring the costs involved in sending a 'reporter' to each location (because RSPB people will be there anyway) while benefitting from the production standards of broadcast radio injected at Podcats with their experience in that field.

We are currently working on a new Podcast for one of the telecommunications industry's biggest players - Amdocs (who count BT, AT & T, China Mobile and Deutsche Telekom among their many clients around the world). The Podcast provides valuable information for the top people in their client's companies. And instead of inviting them to a 'webinar' where they have go on-line at a particular time to access the session they can listen to the Podcast where and when they choose.

This is true 'niche' casting! We are working on this project with penknife design and the next step will be to add graphics - from graphs and maps to the inclusion of video. A cost effective and convenient way to communicate with clients around the world.
